Meet the Lender: Armand Roux, Grenke

In the latest in our ‘meet the lender’ series, we spoke with Armand Roux, sales director at Grenke, about market trends, funding advice and what businesses should be thinking about right now.

What trends are you currently seeing in the market?

There has been a significant change with more businesses looking for funding support. Tax increases and interest rate rises are having an impact and longer payment terms are putting pressure on working capital for many businesses.

What advice would you give to businesses seeking financing for the first time?

I would 100% recommend speaking to a business advisor, broker or accountant first. They can review the business accounts and help establish the most suitable form of funding. It can be difficult to understand all the products available and the wrong decision can worsen a financial position.

Do you foresee the lending landscape changing in the next few years and how will this impact finance?

Technology is driving faster access to funds, particularly for consumers but parts of the business finance market are still operating on older systems. The need for faster processes and easier access to funding will become more important over time.

What motivates you personally in your work as a lender?

Making sure we provide a solution that fits the client’s needs. Every business is different so a one-size approach doesn’t work. Our goal is to support clients in finding the right funding solution without hidden fees or restrictions. Transparency, speed and service are key for us.

How long have you been working with Evolve Business Finance, and how has the partnership benefited your business?

Can you share something about yourself that people might be surprised to learn?

Outside of work, I enjoy rugby, playing guitar, golf and spending time with family, usually around a braai.
